DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL AND AUTOMATION LABORATORY
CAD / CAM LAB
CAD/CAM lab is a state of the art facility that boasts over 35 systems each equipped with latest hardware configurations. The lab provides students and professionals with access to tools for CAD/CAM. This lab are equipped with high performance processors ample RAM and dedicated graphics card ensuring smooth and seamless operation. CAD software such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, Fusion 360 are installed providing users with wide range of options to choose from based on their project requirements. The CAM lab is equipped with advanced CNC machines along with CAM software includes Solid Work CAM. The analysis based software like ANSYS, FLUENT is also installed.
PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY LAB
The main goal of the production technology lab is to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and its practical application. The lab is equipped with wide range of machineries such as Drilling machine, Milling machine, Slotting Machine, Grinding Machine, Lathe, Shaping machine.
STRENGTH OF MATERIALS LAB
In the strength of materials lab, students typically perform a series of experiments to evaluate the strength, stiffness and other mechanical properties of materials. This lab is equipped with Universal Testing Machine, Hardness testing machine, Torsion testing machine, Impact testing machine, spring test machine.
FLUID MECHANICS LAB
In a fluid mechanics lab, the students learn about the behaviour and properties of fluids such as flow rate, pressure. The fluid mechanics lab is equipped with Pelton turbine, Kaplan turbine, Francis turbine, orifice meter, venture meter, Pumps such as Reciprocating pump, submersible pump, centrifugal pump.
THERMAL ENGINEERING LAB
The thermal engineering lab is a dedicated space for conducting experiments related to thermal systems and processes. It is equipped with various instruments and equipment’s to study heat transfer, thermodynamics and other aspects of thermal engineering. The equipment’s includes I.C Engines, Multistage compressor, Blower, Diesel Engine Test rig, Boiler, Air conditioning and Refrigeration test rig, convection heat transfer apparatus, Pensky Marten Apparatus, Redwood viscometer apparatus.
DYNAMICS LAB
In a dynamics lab, students typically conduct experiments to study the various aspects of motions and forces. These experiments help students understand the principles and laws of physics related to dynamics which is the branch of mechanics that deals with the behaviour of objects in motion. The dynamics lab is equipped with Governors, Gyroscopes, Cam Analyzer, and Vibration test apparatus.
MECHATRONICS / AUTOMATION LAB
A mechatronics lab is a specialized laboratory that combines the aspects of mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering and control systems. This lab is equipped with Pneumatic kits, servo motor, servo controller, stepper motor, Hydraulic kits, PID controller kit, computerized data logging systems.
3D PRINTING LAB
This lab is equipped with state of the art 3D printers and organized into different sections. Three-dimensional (3D) printing is an additive manufacturing process that creates a physical object from a digital design. The process works by laying down thin layers of material in the form of liquid or powdered plastic, metal or cement, and then fusing the layers together.
METROLOGY LAB
It is a specialised laboratory that is equipped with wide range of precision instruments and equipment’s that are used for making accurate measurements and calibrations. The instruments include micrometer, vernier calliper, vernier height gauge, vernier depth gauge, slip gauge, sine bar, bevel projector, comparator, Displacement and torque measuring instrument.
